2016 was a pretty crazy year, personally and for Wallis Paints as a business. Started out in a pretty low point, unsure about the future, 2015 did NOT end well for the business.
But 2016 brought new challenges with still juggling full time work and running Wallis Paints part time. We did a kit with LAPIN mixed reviews, undoubtedly its one on my most comfortable kits to day! Much like our custom work, it was out there!!!
We changed the logo a bit, it needed a freshen up.
I also quit my full time job and went full time, so working from home with all my repairs and preparation and hiring a booth for paintwork, looking at premises this year.
Debeer came onboard through Signature paint supplies at brendale, Nick, Sue, Peter and the team have been great!
Played with a few new products - heat sensitive paint - Debeers scratch resistant clear is amazing - DNA has a few new products im pretty happy with!
I started working closely with a close friend, Ky Lane, to develop the business and move it forward, he's a bigger bike nut than me and has been a pretty amazing and inspiring person to work with, helping create the business logo and better marketing.
Ive started working with Mark Priestly from Lifecycle and the now closed FixMyFrame, he has been a great help with feeding me work, helping push my brand and a good friend!!
Adam Pelzer opened up Le Service Course at the petrie roundabout, unfortunately for him he's my go to guy with the jobs i need a hand with!!
Lots of things on the horizon. Few new pigments im excited about but im keeping them to myself for now, shhhhh
Custom paint display in a new northside bike shop. Old Skool steel collaboration with a great team in the valley.
Enjoying working more with local and distant shops to create amazing things!!!!
Maybe another kit...... maybe?
On a personal not my wife and i are expecing another baby which is pretty exciting, i need to thank her quickly, without her i wouldnt be where i am, Thanks Skye you are my rock!!!!!
Well enough from me, enjoy the remainder of your holidays. Keep each other safe and i hope 2017 is everything you can imagine and hope for!!!!
